eco friendly paint

Since lead paint is usually present in any house 50 or more years old, residents and restorers of old houses need to take special precautions to minimize their exposure to lead paint. If you’ll be starting an extensive renovation, such as removing lead paint, you must be sure to pay attention to daily cleanup. More than anything else, this will minimize your exposure to lead dust.

Make eco-friendly paint choices, of which there are many. From paints and finishes made from natural ingredients such as plant based paint, clay paint and natural wood oils and varnishes; to high quality synthetic paints and wood finishes which are water-based, zero or low VOC, and non-toxic. Natural paints and finishes are on the whole more environmentally friendly than synthetic ones; while synthetic ones are usually more durable and a bit cheaper.
